Paula is a 40-year old woman who was recently diagnosed with a pituitary tumor. Rather than remove the tumor with risky surgery, we were able to shrink it with medication. However, this medication is very expensive and must be taken for months at a time to ensure that the tumor won't grow. Without this medicine, Paula's quality of life would be poor, and she risked eventual blindness. The Community Care Center purchased this medication and has followed her lengthy treatment. Currently, her tumor has shrunk, and she is symptom-free. As a result, Paula is able to work again.
